The Struggle – Week 12

brainI’m not really sure what’s going on inside my head.

It seems I am doing things I don’t understand myself.

My Definite Major Purpose is to provide shelter, detox, and education for people who are affected by environmental toxins.

Then why am I spending the majority of my time working on WordPress blogs?

Because it is paying the bills.  It is allowing me to give to the cause… but it is not allowing me to dedicate my time to the cause.  It takes time away from the purpose of my life.  And some days that seems counterproductive.  Some days like today I feel the need to stop what I am doing and shout from the rooftops.

So, that is the struggle.

I imagine, it is the same struggle that the person who works a 9 to 5 job faces.

Except I created my own job.

It’s not that I don’t enjoy doing what I am doing. I do like helping people start and enhance their businesses online. I do like setting up websites and helping people with their technical challenges. I’m good at it and I have been working on websites since 1997.  I have been doing web design and Internet marketing since 2003.

And all of that is allowing me to donate to people in need.

It’s just not enough.

It’s going to take tens of thousands of dollars per month or more to put a dent in the virtually unseen epidemic that is caused by environmental toxins. I know people who are peeing blood, have lost their hearing, are losing their vision, have open sores, massive inflammation, liver failure and so much more. The problem is monumental and every day I am doing what I can to help.

I envision shelters in every state and in every country where people can go to get out of the toxic environments that are making them sick. There would be help available to make toxin free meals, provide supplements and treatments that allow people to heal and gently detox so they no longer need assistance.

elephant-cookieHow do you eat an elephant?

One bite at a time.

Although some days I am overwhelmed by the number of people who are suffering, people who are literally dying in their homes… and sometimes my seemingly miniscule donations are like a drop in the bucket… I will persist, I will succeed.

It’s amazing how this class is helping me to realize my dreams and at the same time, it is a struggle. There is a daily struggle inside my head.

Some days I feel like I am winning.

Today was a particularly rough day. I am watching a friend suffer.

She has gotten out of her very toxic home, but she is so sick she cannot take care of herself. Her family does not believe that toxic mold has been making her sick. They think she is a drug addict and looking for attention. Unfortunately, many of the doctors think the same thing. She has been very close to suicide. The pain is just too much.

Her last trip to the ER, she was diagnosed with pancreatitis. Still her family does not believe that she is truly sick. The pancreatitis is a result of years of living in toxic mold… but doctors will not treat the toxicity… they only add to the toxicity by giving her steroids, pain killers and sleeping pills. All of which make things worse.

I wonder if my whole goal to help people who are in this situation is misguided. Should the focus be on educating the doctors?  What about the health departments who are also denying toxic mold exists?

There are people out there who are already doing that kind of dissemination. It’s just not something the average person (or doctor) is watching or listening to.

Doug Kaufman, of “Know the Cause” and Dave Asprey, “The Bulletproof Executive” are two great examples of people who are putting the truth about mold, mycotoxins and the environmental toxins out into the world.

I will continue to focus on shelter, detox and education for the people who are affected by this.

Even though some days I feel overwhelmed… I persist.

Event though today, I find it difficult to say the words. I continue on in despair.

I persist and I win!

Today, I would really appreciate your sincere encouragement, your suggestions, your comments, your thoughts. During this holiday season, say a prayer for the people who are living in toxic environments. Say a prayer for the doctors who do not yet understand the cause of sickness. I dare say, all sickness is caused by toxins. The sooner doctors start treating the cause and stop adding to it with unnecessary surgeries and pharmaceuticals, the better off we will all be.

Please consider leaving a comment below.

I appreciate you!

    Dear Heather,

You have been a huge help as I learn the ways of blogging. As you know, I struggle with the illness and condition you mention in your post. I also engage with many people who suffer greatly from this condition. The walk is not always easy. I know you want to help in a much bigger way and you will as time unfolds. For the moment you are helping in ways that might seem too small to you but to me they are grand. I do not know the direction you should walk. I do know the steps you have taken thus far have been profoundly helpful and meaningful to me and I suspect to many. Please be gentle with yourself as you consider these questions and know that the right path will naturally unfold for you. Trust. God loves you!

    Your friend,

Tears well up in my eyes as I read your comment. Thank you. As I think you know, I enjoy helping you and I am so glad you are enjoying blogging. Thanks for the encouragement. I appreciate it more than you can ever know.

we feel this way at times…..the constant struggle with what direction to make the most impact, bring the most awareness and mostly help and educate others…..same struggles here. I am out everyday working there is no other way. I am a walking target as almost everything in the environment is a danger on some level. Yesterday I was needed to help my maids get there work done. I had garlic soaked cotton in my ears and double mask to help assure my safety to at least the dust. You are doing a great service to many. thanks

Great to know that I am not alone. Thanks Stephanie. I am so sorry you are still struggling with the sensitivities that are caused by environmental illness. It must be very difficult indeed to have a cleaning business with the dangers that brings.

I’m sensing the “F” word coming through – “FRUSTRATION” and it’s taking a mental toll on your psyche. Where is your mastermind? Remember, all successful people with purpose have masterminds. Gather them around you. They will keep you focused and on-track. Do you have a business plan? Is there a community bank or socially responsible bank nearby you can speak with about a property on their rolls they’d be willing to donate? Could this be your workspace AND a shelter for detox and education? The Law of Dual Space (I made that up:-))) What if a property needed to be overhauled and made safe? Would the Bank/EPA/National Brownfield Association renovate and repair this space? If so, you can record this entire process on your YouTube Channel. Step-by-step your audience can see the progress, can see the difference in health for the inhabitants, and can fully understand how toxins are making everyone sick. Bring the doctors who are on your side into your new space. Or, maybe work in their space? I hope this helps!

Great ideas! I am working on forming a mastermind for this purpose. After the holidays… we will start meeting in Google hangout. So far, we have 3 interested people who contacted me because of a previous blog post… definitely still looking for more who would like to brainstorm ideas. You are welcome to join us. I love the ideas you have already come up with! Thank you!

It is interesting how we are trying to accomplish so much but when we prioritize our work it just seems to fall in place. Keep up the good work.

Heather – you are most certainly going after an elephant – it may even be a Brontosaurus! your ‘bite’ may not seem like much but without YOU the beast will never get eaten. Trust and believe. Have faith in yourself and the universe! Blessings!

    1. Heather Post author

I am so grateful for you, Carolynn! Today I am back to trusting and believing. Remembering that what I focus on grows… and growing health, wellness and prosperity for all.

Hello Heather, what comes to my mind when reading your blog is John Lennon’s song “Imagine”. Imagine a world of Love where there will be no more toxins, because it all starts with Love, the day will come when people will Love themselves and others and they will change the environment, they will do everything they can to eradicate toxins from this planet and it will happen but it is a long journey.
You are already doing a great job by helping these people who suffer and you are also doing a great job helping people with their online business. Maybe one little suggestion, when you get new customers, if you have a website that informs people about your cause you could possibly offer them a discount if they will allow you to add a link to that website in order to get the word out about toxins.
I believe that money donations will not do the work, what is needed is more teaching or educating people about the cause and as I wrote above, when people will Love themselves and their neighbors they will start to clean up.
    You are great Heather,

    1. Heather Post author

Great ideas, Roger. I do think education is a big part of this… and the idea about a link to my sites about education, toxins and mold support… that’s fabulous. Thank you so much.

  7. Andrea Hartley

I understand and share your frustration. It has been impossible for me to be able to do all that I would like to do to help others because of my own health issues and my own need to support myself financially. Still searching for the answer. Have big dreams but, sadly, still dreams…and I don’t play the lottery lol.
Your idea of educating doctors is a good one but very tough. Doctors seldem even listen to other doctors, let alone a lay person.
As I thinkover this problem, writing to you, it seems to me that a prayer chain of people praying for change and visualizing that change would be a way to start. I will say that I will start an FB page for people who will commit to such activity. Stay tuned for the link. <3

    1. Heather Post author

Please do share the prayer chain, Andrea! The road we take has plenty of challenges… and they are all worth it. Still sitting and thinking on the education of doctors… it seems daunting at times because doctors spend so much time in medical school being brainwashed into thinking big pharma is the answer… they don’t look past the next prescription. Educating people seems easier… but there needs to be a shift of some kind… that’s coming. I can feel it.

You didn’t know me but you took my call and listened to our story that involved toxic mold in our master bathroom ceiling that you couldn’t see nor smell. It was the Grace of the Lord that led me down this road and there it was. Ridiculed for even thinking that we could have something like this in our house. God turned unbelievers into believers. Ask for direction and you will receive. To add further insult to injury we discovered after living in the home for 6 weeks after that the remediation contractor fogged our home with Benefect. On the surface it looks natural and innocent but the delivery method(fogging) proved to be detrimental to our family’s health in ways unimaginable. We had to walk away from our home after 6 months of working with experts to try and eradicate this pesticide from everything we owned. I appreciated your kindness your advice and wanted you to know the world needs more people like you in this world. Sometimes it takes a lot of voices to instill a change and sometimes its just the one. Thanks again! Tessa McCall Keller, Texas

    1. Heather Post author

I remember that call, Tessa. I get many calls like yours… and I try to take every one. When we were going through this, there was no one with any glimmer of hope for us. We heard a lot of doom and gloom and impossibilities. I like to live in hope, dreams and possibilities… and look at us… even with the “dreaded” mold gene… we are all well. Keep moving forward. Each obstacle is a lesson, one that you can share with someone down the road and help them to avoid the same mistakes. Thank you for reminding me that helping one person makes a difference. I am sorry you lost your home… but as you know, things are replaceable… people are not! Much love to you and your family.

  9. Lydia

Heather, I empathize with your wishes, your struggles and your persistence. I believe there are toxins everywhere. I would like to donate some DETOX product to some of your connections to see how it could help them and your mission. Let’s talk.
    In gratitude,

    1. Heather Post author

You bet I want to talk, Lydia! I am taking a short vacation for the holidays. I am putting you in my calendar for next week. I will be in touch Tuesday! Thank you for your generous offer. :)

  10. Roger Gauthier

Another suggestion Heather, a very simple one: take a few 3″ X 5″ cards and on one side write a positive result you have experienced, it could be just the name of people you have helped and the story will come to your mind immediately; on the other side of the card write: Heather & Bear hug the Kettle.
You’ll have the choice to hug the kettle or have a smile of satisfaction, the choice should be easy.
    You are great, Heather

  11. Beatrice Latherings

I decided for myself that the only thing I can successfully do is help people by giving them information and just keep at it. What you are doing is having success, so … just keep at it. You’re great, you’re doing fine, and we all appreciate it.

  12. Able Tsang

Heather!! I truly believe that you, your donations, and your dedication this cause will do a great deal to both heal and prevent people from suffering from environmental toxins. You rock!

  13. Nicole Wright

Heather, Thank you for being so honest and sharing your frustration. I share that frustration – having my own business since 1989, I am so often frustrated in my efforts to move beyond it. Grateful for the work and the people I work with but too often having to focus on doing the work to pay the bills. You have a huge heart and such compassion. I can tell from all the comments and the discussion we had last week that you are making huge differences in people’s lives. You are giving more and more and Emerson’s law will surely kick in to help you in your efforts. I think Renee has some excellent suggestions also in her comment above. Have peace in the journey, you are a wonderful person doing great work!

    1. Heather Post author

Thanks so much, Nicole. I am feeling overwhelmed with gratitude right now… and so much is happening in my life to make my dreams come true. Thanks for sharing our similarities. We should talk through this together the next time we talk… great things are coming for both of us, I can feel it.

  14. Cyndria Coaty

Heather, I wasn’t even aware of toxic mold syndromes until you mentioned it. I just watched “It’s a Wonderful Life” and I just want to remind you that if you weren’t there educating and helping these people, they may not have gotten the help needed to overcome this disease. Keep up the great work.

    1. Heather Post author

“It’s a Wonderful Life” is one of my favorites! It used to be on so often during the holidays… now I seem to miss it every year. Thanks for the comparison… it really makes me think!

  15. Anna Ray MKMMA

You know your greater DMP is being serviced by your technical expertise. Everyone whose blog you facilitated will link to your blog, increasing footfall to your message. You have already set the groundwork by creating an information-rich website and honed your message. Then you offered your services to MKMMA, which created conversations, links and suggestions such as Renee Shatanoff’s. I know you are already aware of all that – now, are you also aware that the tension you feel is from personally identifying, which could scupper your effectiveness? This is where personal expertise comes in and should lead to feelings of ease and focus. You’re ‘keying into’ a larger vibrational idea that will manifest through lots of people, only part of it falls on your shoulders (unless you have already have the funds, legal expertise, control of media exposure, sponsorship streams and an office of expert colleagues to handle the whole thing) and therefore the idea will take the path of least resistance, like water. Sometimes a really big idea can only happen through letting many own it and enlarge it, you need only own your part of the vision. It sounds like the full potential of your idea can only come through co-operation with others who have the resources needed, maybe even by attracting the notice of a reader who can bring the right interests/connections/funding. You will attract each other, the resources will come to allow you to work on it full-time, and when that happens it could come virtually overnight so be ready … and today’s frustrations will not only be over but you will see why they were necessary. Until then, you are setting up circumstances, eliminating distractions and conquering emotions that will hold you apart from your goal – being a voice in the wilderness is not your ultimate responsibility, you are part of a choir. You are wise so I am sure you know that frustration comes from personal identification with the idea but if it is really an idea that the world needs then you are it’s tool – it is not yours. What you and others are trying to highlight could lead to far-reaching industrial and medical changes, so be a sharp and true tool by completing your duties and tasks cheerfully. By the time you read this comment, you have probably moved through your resistance anyway. You are doing a grand job, Heather. Merry Christmas.

  16. Heather Post author

Bless you, Anna Ray! I am touched by your wisdom. Love, love, love. I have been near tears, reading the comments and now they flow. How true… the right people and circumstances are coming my way. I connected with an awesome -HUGE part of the “choir” last night. I was feeling the law of attraction working… and I am open and have moved past the resistance I was feeling. Thank you!!! Merry Christmas to you and to all! :)

So many Gratitude’s to be grateful for in your article… it is going to take time along with your efforts but also many others who are experiencing this first hand so maybe as you have the experience of blogging you can get the message out with interviews with everyone involved and video is very good in getting the bigger message out about Stachybotrys and how it produces trhichothecene mycotoxins with photos of these from the labs and connected to the bedroom of the little girl that is sick, all on short videos. I wish you good health in 2014.

Heather thank you so much for your honesty in this very moving blog. All of us struggle and it sometimes gets so frustrating when it is not going as quickly as we would like. You are so right about environmental toxins, including mold, and getting the word out there. I wish you the courage and persistence and the insight to keep going no matter what about this very worthwhile cause. It is people like you that are helping others and making a difference. The word will spread. You have already made a difference and with the Law of Growth you know that will continue to grow. I have an idea which might help which I will send you via email.
